Default 2003 A4 1.8 & 3.0 RECALL

got it in the mail today....looks real, but who knows.

"The fuel pump on some affected vehicles may contain a carbon brush set that is susceptible to premature wear. This could lead to an inoperative fuel pump and , ultimately, interrupt or even stop the fuel suppy to the engine. If fuel flow to the engine is interrupted, the vehicle could stall without warning and thus present a potential risk of crash.

In order to correct this defect, wel will replace the fuel pump on your vehicle"

Then it says to go to your audi dealer and get it done for free, and if you recently bought a fuel pump u can get reembursed.

They say they are doing this in accordance with the Natinal Traffic and Motor vehicle saftey act, and their records show i own one of these vehicles. I am not under any warranty....and bought the car used without any warranty, so the only way they would know I had one would be through state registration I guess. Any of you guys get this notice???

It doesn't matter if your car is under warranty or not. They made it and they're responsible for your safety. All they're going to do is look up your VIN and ensure that it hasn't been replaced before, then replace it.

Last time I brought my car in for service they mentioned to me that my fuel pump was running 'a little noisier than usual.' I wonder if this recall has anything to do with it. Oh well, I was taking her in for an oil change on Wednesday any way. I'll have them look at it then.

How do I check to see if my car is under that recall? I just bought the car a month ago and I havent gotten anything in the mail. It most likely went to the old owners.

Thanks!

Call your local stealership with your VIN number and they should be able to tell you.

my fuel pump failed onmy on my way to school... in 3rd going up a hill

my foot was on the pedal... but the car started gasing in bursts.. then it just straight up failed lol and i stalled..

do you think the one that they replaced it with is good now? I replaced it at a audi specialist, not the dealer. under warranty.

Anyone know of any dealerships in Orange County, CA that offer free loaners during service? I know it doesn'y take them long to do the service but I work Monday- Friday 8-5, basically their service hours.
