I just purchased my first Audi. I previously owned a '98 VW Jetta. I do my own regular oil changes on my old car as well as my wife's '04 SAAb 9-3.

I'm looking for some guidance on oil filter brands as well as oil brands. I normally use Mobil Synthetic 5W30 on both the VW and SAAB. Synthetic oil is more or less (?) all the same, so this should be OK to continue to use, correct? Is there a better brand suggestion for the A6?

I also used Fram filters, but have learned that these may not be the best quality. Is there a recommended brand that would be better? I found a YouTube video showing a bunch of oil filters taken apart and it looked like a K&N Filter had the best features (most filter folds), but I can't seem to find out if these fit on an '01 A6.

Thoughts?
