Default What TCM Do I need for 99 Audi A4 Quattro?

I picked up a 1999 Audi A4 from an impound lot. The vehicle was missing many things including the TCM (Transmission Control Module) which is located under the passenger side floorboard. I have no idea what TCM is suppose to go in here?

It is an Automatic Transmission with Tiptronic shifting. It has the 1.8T Engine and it is a Quattro.

Thanks in advance for your help!

go to http://car-part.com select the year of your car, then select Audi A4,then select the part, which is"Transmission computer",then select your region, then select whatever search preverences you want...distance,price,grade ect.. there should be a listing of the salvage or junk yards with your A4's TCM.

Good Luck!

Thanks for the link. Unfortunately I have called around to several of the local salvage yards that come up on that website and they all say I should match up the #'s to my old unit. That is a problem since I found a lonely cable and an empty plastic box under the carpet

I called the dealer and had them run my vin. It came back requiring part #8D0 927 156 BN. List was $1800. hahaha. I have found a few on ebay for around the $200 range.

I guess what I am wondering now is if there are any other TCM's that will work or am I limited to just that one part #? There are plenty of guys on craigslist parting these cars out and might be able to find one that will work.

Thanks again.

I don't get it,if you called any of those places on that website for your car, they should have had your TCM with the part number 8D0 927 156 BN and those TCM's on that site are all used and they should never cost 1800.00thats for a brand new unit. the most you should see on that site are 100-500 tops.

did you search for your car year, make and model? Post the info you entered into the fields and your location, city and state and zip code. I want to see what you came up with.

Independent of the actual car/problems, how was the while impound lot auction/sale experience? Have always intended to go check one out, but haven't yet. Do you get to inspect much before bidding/buying?

You now know the part number that will work. Are you thinking a different part number might work and cost $50? You have your solution. It costs $200. Go.
