Window Switch Replacement

Window Switch Replacement
Hi, I'm new to the forums. I've been reading it for quite some time, even though I'm a relatively new Audi A4 owner. I really appreciate a lot of the threads that have helped me out with my new car! But I could not find one about a 2001 A4 where the window switch doesn't work well. My problem is that on the drivers side window switches, I can make the passenger window go down, but I can't make it go up. However, It works both ways on the passenger side switch, so I believe it is the switch in the master control (if I'm wrong please correct me). Now I have a new switch and I want to install it, but I don't want to break anything, so if someone could please tell me how to install it, that would be great. Thank you!

Follow the directions here to get your door panel off
http://www.audizine.com/forum/showth...gulator-How-To
once you get your door panel off you will have access to the underside of the door switches. From here you can swap the wiring on the switches to test and see if that switch is in fact bad OR you can release the entire switch panel and then swap in a replacement switch if you already know your driver side switch is in fact bad.
