Default 06 A4 - Antenna Cover?

Hi all...

First post here and hoping someone can help me. I went out the other day, got home and the cover to my antenna was gone when I got out of the car, so I assume it fell off while driving.

I called Audi to find out how much a replacement cover is; $400+ because I'd have to buy a new antenna at the same time because they are distributed together. My antenna works fine, so I will not be dropping $400 on something I don't need.

I found similar looking antennas on Ebay, but I don't think they have hollowed out centers so that would defeat the purpose as I don't really care about the shark fin look, just need my antenna covered so it doesn't get ruined! The 4 Audi dealerships I called and Audi Customer Service had no suggestions for me other than buy the whole antenna (gee, thanks). Even called a used Audi parts guy and he wouldn't sell it separate. Irritating that it's distributed together since the parts guy's all told me they get 1-2 of these calls a month, so it must be a common problem.

Anyone know where I can find one or any suggestions on how to cover up my antenna in a fashionable enough way (ie: not the tin foil that's currently on it!).

Thanks! I am in MA and car is not usually garaged, so out in the elements.

You know you have to drop your headliner to get to the bolts. Kind of a pain.

How do you go about dropping the headliner, anyway? I have a few aftermarket satellite antenna's to mount, and I want them 100% out of sight. They're for my XM & Nav system.

Anywho, I've seen someone do this, and it looks like a really great idea.

Any suggestions would be quite helpful.

EDIT:
Here's the full install that the guy did. How beautiful is this?

I got the part, then realized this. How difficult is this? Thinking of letting my friend give it a go...Audi wants $400-$500 for it, says it's a 3-4hr job.

Default I have the same issue...

The problem with the Dummy covers is they are not hollow. Any luck finding the cover? My cover fell off in the car wash once and it stayed thereafter with some plastic glue for over a year. I am in NYC so it left with the snow fall recently. Someone has to have this cap...or they should start making them!

I am starting to lose my audi taste with junk like this.

I'm hoping you remember what glue you used? In need of a quick fix!
