A/C compressor clutch not engaging

A/C compressor clutch not engaging
After doing the complete 'drive belt' thing and changing the clutch, the A/C compressor won't come on anymore; not sure though if it DID work prior to the clutch work.
I assume it is an electrical connection from the control unit that activates the clutch?
What wire/connectors/sensors/switches should I start checking to troubleshoot the problem?
Could it be 'rusted' in? I can spin the clutch (inside the the A/C drive pulley).
Suggestions, please.

Did you unplug the connector that is located behind the passenger side headlight, on the side of the condenser, that would cause that... Otherwise youll want to check the A/C pressure, and/or check for codes with a VAG to see whats going on.

Then check VAGcom codes for the A/C module.
IF pressure were low (leak), would that also prevent the compressor clutch from engaging?

Yep, the connection you are checking is the connection to the pressure switch. This checks for too high or too low pressure and will turn off the compressor (this protects it). If this switch were disconnected, faulty (check that after youve done everything else), or if there is little or no refrigerant in the system, it will prevent the compressor from engaging. A VAG code will be thrown if the switch thinks the pressure is too low. So if you check the pressure with a manual reader on the low service side, and you have pressure you know its a problem with the switch most likely, if you dont have pressure its because you have a leak and all of the refrigerant has escaped.
