Default Synchronize remote key

Ive just bought myself an Audi 2.0T avant quattro 2005 and got a key thats not synchronized.

Ive been reading the manual for it but it doesnt seem to work, the manual says:

- Push the remote manouverbutton for unlock.

- Stick the key in the ignition and turn it on.

- Turn the ignition off and pull the key out.

- Press the unlock on the key and then the lock.

That should be it but it doesnt work, the key itself works im just using the key to unlock and start the engine etc.

Any tips?
Been trying to search on the forums but havent got any clue's on this model.

Does the red light blink when you push a button? If it doesn't (and maybe even if it does) then you probably have a dead battery.

I would change the batteries. Also when you change the batteries press the buttons on the remote with the batteries removed. I have heard that by doing this will allow the remote to sync with the car.

Yeah, the red light on the remote key is flashing when im pressing any button on it, but it could be a bad battery so im gona try to exchange it and try to resync the key.

Thing is that ive found multiple solutions on how to synchronize the key and i was hoping that someone had the right instructions.

Since the manual that came with the car doesnt always tell the truth in theese cases.

The process in the manual has worked for me. When I've disconnected the car's battery I've had to resync the key. The process in the manual works every time.

dealer would do it for you if you bought the keys from them or at least they should.

It's probably simpler than this but it worked for me.

I took a working key, inserted it in the ignition and turned it so the radio came on.

I inserted the non-working key in the door, turned it to lock, pressed the lock button, repeated a few times. Did the same with unlocking the door and pressing the unlock button. I am not sure how many times I did each. I was just trying something I'd read on another site.

I took the key out of the door and ignition and the keyfob that was not working started working.

This was for a '07 A4.

that is generally the sync procedure.

for B7's... Sometimes it didn't work for me and i had to do it with an audi scan tool.

Amy80, The starting of the car using a key.... that key need to be adapted to the car it was cut for by VIN via network Germany at your local dealership
