timing belt is the big part of a 90k. not sure what else the manual calls for but it could pretty well be done in your drive way. TB will run about a grand if you have somebody else do it. if that's the case, make sure they install a water pump with a metal impeller while the front end is off. that is generally what causes the trouble.

wait, you said you just hit 90k in a 2000?!?! i have an '01 at 152k.

i hate you both. i had a 53 mile commute each way for just over a year. that sure racked up the miles. anyhoo, better check all the control arms and links. i think that's about when mine went out.

97 at 190K. I bought it 4 years ago with 70K. By the end of the year I will easily have 220k. 12V will run forever, knock on desk

There are differing opinions as to exactly when, but the timing belt should be done as part of the 80K or 85K (depends on year and original dealer, some cars had an initial 5K mile service) mile service. Do not wait. Replace the water pump, tensioners, rollers, and serp belts while you're at it.

Hmm, seeing you guys gives lot of hope.

Have seen many horror stories in the forum about Audis after
60K miles or so, was having doubts about the reliability of
these cars. Was thinking of selling mine just before the warranty
expires.

May be don't have to :-)
