Default How to change rear speaker

Hi All
There is a cracking sound coming out of the rear speaker on the driver side. I did not try to remove it yet to replace it. But I did have a look at it. Should I remove the plastic cover and will I find the screws for the speaker there ? Or should I open the trunk and remove the speaker from in there ?
Thanks

If you're talking about the speaker on the rear deck by the rear window you need to remove that entire rear deck. Its a major PITA just to change the speaker but the good news is the cones on those back speakers tend to rip or fall off, what i did to mine was just super glue the cone back on and it sounded like a brand new speaker. Those speakers are like $200 each so hopefully its just a blown cone.

Oh, really. Huh, thats gay. I would think you just have to pull off the speaker cover on the inside of the car, pull those sscrews out, then get in the trunk and pull the amp and wires off. I also dont have my manual or car here so i cant be of too much help at the moment... lol.

If you want to try prying up on the grilles go ahead, if you end up with broken speaker grille don't say i didn't warn you.

nmocci, I would really not recommend something that would damage the vehicle. That's not going to make people happy around here. Alinux, you should remove the whole rear deck. Its not that hard just remove the car seat anchors that are holding it in place and slide the deck towards you .

No i wasnt reccomending anything. I was just putting in my thoughts. Isnt that what forums are for? I was just saying that because in my previous cars thats all i had to do to change the rear speakers. As i said i dont have my car nor my manual here to clarify with what i was saying. Was just putting in my thoughts, hope noone was offended.
